Rich Platform Services in sharepoint2010

SharePoint 2010 is a rich platform on which you can build your application. The Microsoft .NET framework provides base level services that developers can import and use through code. The SharePoint 2010 platform extends this with additional libraries and functionality that can be called directly from developer code. SharePoint also provides a set of end user and business analyst tools that integrate tightly into the features and APIs available to developers. Figure shows a diagrammatic overview of the components of the platform.
