What are the Visual Studio 2010 SharePoint tools?

Developers will be excited with the rich set of tools for building solutions with SharePoint 2010. Visual Studio 2010 has direct support for the most common kinds of projects that you might want to create in SharePoint 2010 and it has tools for packaging SharePoint solutions as WSP files. SharePoint Designer 2010 includes new support to help make the transition between designers and analysts to developers smoother and more productive. The developer tools and SharePoint 2010 can be run on a workstation operating system including Windows 7 and Windows Vista SP1 rather than requiring a server Operating System for each developer.

Visual Studio 2010 includes support out of the box for the most common types of projects that you may want to build with SharePoint 2010 as well as new features for more easily defining features, solutions, and wizards to walk through the most common settings for each project type.
